M4A4 | Howl
Copyright trouble pulled Howl out of its Huntsman crate. Copies already owned carry Contraband status.
Wear: which slices of float exist
Float gets stamped at creation and stays permanent, which is why shooting never degrades anything. Wear labels simply carve that number line into ranges. Howl shows only ranges its limits reach.
| Wear | Overlap | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Factory New | 0.00 – 0.07 | Listed wear |
| Minimal Wear | 0.07 – 0.15 | Listed wear |
| Field-Tested | 0.15 – 0.38 | Listed wear |
| Well-Worn | 0.38 – 0.40 | Listed wear |
Contraband: a rarity only Howl holds
Howl debuted 1 May 2014 as Huntsman's covert, flames licking a wolf. Its artwork triggered a copyright dispute. Valve withdrew it from its case, froze new supply, and relabeled existing copies Contraband.
Limits run 0.00 to 0.40: Factory New up to a thin Well-Worn slice is possible, Battle-Scarred is not. StatTrak units minted before withdrawal survive, though nobody can add that option now. Contracts never output a Howl.
Downside: supply is closed, so every purchase is a resale of an existing copy. Check each listing's float before paying.
