CS2 Case OverviewIndependent reference

A reference, not a marketplace

Read a CS2 case before you pay for the key.

This site walks through how official Counter-Strike 2 cases, floats, trade-ups and skin markets work. Its pages target readers who look up one particular skin or case, and each page is built differently enough for a search engine to tell it from the next.

Begin with the mechanic: a case, a key, a roll

Guide

How CS2 cases work

The case is only a box. Valve sells the key that opens it as a second purchase, and the skin that comes out is a third thing, decided by a roll.

Case odds and expected value

The gold slot exists, but at 0.26% it comes up so seldom that a typical opening ends in a loss.

Float and wear

The float never changes. The wear name is just a label for whichever band that number lands in.

Skins that readers search by name

A long page per finish lays out its collection, its float window and the points buyers dispute. Live prices are for the markets to show.

AWP | Asiimov

Covert

AWP | Asiimov

This white and orange AWP skips Factory New and Minimal Wear altogether, and 0.18 is the cleanest float it reaches.

M4A4 | Asiimov

Covert

M4A4 | Asiimov

The rifle version of Asiimov that came first. It shares the AWP's 0.18 float floor but sits in a different collection.

An opening mostly pays out Mil-Spec

Valve's published odds give Mil-Spec near 79.92 percent and the gold slot 0.26 percent, so most results are Mil-Spec. A case can be cheap, yet the key is not. On an ordinary active case, the average return stays below what opening costs.

Reference pages stay free of codes and rankings

Case, skin and capsule pages carry no promo codes, no "best casino" ranking and no live price feed posing as current next month. Codes and rankings sit in the reviews and the tables below, marked as affiliate links. A free case on a third-party site is a promotional balance with withdrawal rules. It is not the weekly drop Valve hands out in game.
