Steam Community Market
Steam's own listing page. Buyers pay the displayed price, and sellers are paid about fifteen percent less, in Steam wallet funds.
Steam Market: where a normal rifle skin is easiest to buy
Nothing extra needs setting up, because the market lives inside the account you already play on. A listing shows the wear, and for many items details sufficient to dodge a wrong finish. Goods arrive as market items, with no person trading you in a chat. For a normal rifle skin, that is where buying is easiest.
Sellers look elsewhere because of the fee. On CS2 items a seller nets roughly fifteen percent under the buyer's price, with the remainder spendable only on Steam. A minimum fee takes an additional slice from cheap skins.
Downside: that Steam balance cannot be withdrawn to a bank, so choose another place to sell when cash is the goal.
Steam falls short for pattern and sticker items
Pattern-sensitive items and heavy sticker crafts are easy to misread among similar listings. If you are paying for the seed or the scrape, ask for an inspect that displays them before the payment. Use the listing guide as a checklist and marketplace fees for the cost.
